Queensland State Archives celebrates 150 years of Queensland's history

Queensland State Archives is proud to commemorate Queensland’s 150th Anniversary by connecting Queenslanders with their past in 2009.

As the custodian of the State’s largest and most significant collection of documentary heritage, Queensland State Archives has delved into Queensland’s public archival records and found some rare treasures to share during an exciting 2009 Events and Exhibitions Program.

Top 150 Prominent historian Dr Murray Johnson has selected 150 of Queensland’s most influential documents, photos, paintings and maps and ranked them in order of historical significance for the Top 150 Documenting Queensland exhibition. The exhibition is also available online at Top150.org.

Qld Firsts Queensland Firsts is a showcase of rarely-seen archival records chosen by Queensland historians Professor Kay Saunders, Dr Julie Ustinoff and Dr Shirleene Robinson as Queensland's 50 history-defining milestones. The exhibition is also available online at QueenslandFirsts.org.
