As custodian of Queensland's principal documentary heritage collection, Queensland State Archives (QSA) has many treasures and resources for both government and public clients. You can discover a wealth of useful material to aid your research by attending our events. We also have a program of exhibitions to provide a glimpse into our collections.

Saturday openings

The Public Search Room at Queensland State Archives is open on the second Saturday of every month from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm. View the Saturday opening dates for 2016. 

Behind-the-scenes tours

Queensland State Archives provides behind-the-scenes tours of the Archives' repositories. For more information and booking details, visit the tours page.  

Webinars

We will be broadcasting some of our seminars online as webinars. Webinars are streamed live through the internet and allow participants to ask questions and interact with the presenter in real time. You may sign up as an individual to watch at home, or some local libraries and other groups are partnering with Queensland State Archives to facilitate group viewings. Past webinars are also available to view on our YouTube channel.

Loveday Finn - Family History study

By following the Loveday Finn story, you can discover how to use the Queensland State Archives' catalogue and indexes to locate family history records in our collection. Get search tips and discover how to access resources to research your own ancestor. This is a good workshop for researchers starting their family history research who want to hear more about the types of records you could find for your own ancestors.
