Developing an E-Government Policy Framework for Electronic Records Management - Discussion Paper

Queensland State Archives administers the legislative and policy framework for best practice recordkeeping in Queensland.

Recognising that the recordkeeping policy framework needs to be expanded to provide additional high-level guidelines and advice to government in the area of electronic records management, Queensland State Archives undertook a consultation process in 2006 to seek feedback from public authorities on what policy advice and practical support is needed to assist them to improve the management of electronic records over time.

Queensland State Archives released the Developing an e-Government Policy Framework for Electronic Records Management Discussion Paper to facilitate this consultation process.

A summary of feedback received is available.

Results of the consultation process are informing Queensland State Archives priorities for the development of additional guidelines and advice on electronic records management.
