Flood Fire Famine Virtual Exhibition

Famine:

Queensland is a land of harsh climatic extremes.
Prolonged drought can turn the country into a barren landscape with plagues of mice and grasshoppers causing devastation to crops.

Predicting climate patterns and ways of controlling the weather have long been a goal of farsighted individuals and government bodies. Meteorologists and long-range weather forecasters such as Clement Wragge, first Government Meteorologist, Inigo Jones and Lennox Walker from the Crohamhurst Observatory spent many years painstaking collecting data to build up patterns of knowledge beyond the lifespan of any one individual.
