Letter sent by John Bramston, Vice-Chairman of the Queensland Insurance Company suggesting that a empty shed adjacent to the Police Station might be fitted out as a suitable place to store the fire engine and to conduct meetings of the fire brigade.
Bramston felt that this option was preferable to the uncovered standing space inside the Police Office yards that had been suggested to house the fire engine.
The request was made on the understanding that any fittings to the shed would be removed and the shed vacated by the fire brigade should the Government require its use for another purpose at some later date.
