National Information Management Skills Summit

Information Management Skills Survey

The Information Management Skills Survey was commissioned by Queensland State Archives in partnership with the Office of Economic and Statistical Research, Queensland Treasury to provide insight into the current and future information management challenges and associated capability issues facing the Queensland public sector.

The findings of the survey, which was conducted in the lead up to the National Information Management Skills Summit, were presented at the Summit by Ms Janet Prowse, Director and State Archivist and Chair of the Queensland Government’s Information Management Sub-Committee.

73 Queensland agencies responded to the survey including State Government departments, Local Governments, statutory entities, government-owned corporations and tertiary institutions.  The size of the respondent’s organisations varied from under 100 to more than 3,000 full time employees.

The results of the survey will help to inform the development of an action plan to improve the information management capability of the public sector.
