In Depth

 

Classify each email. The first three have been done for you.

  Public Record requiring capture in the record system Captured by the sender only Does not require capture
A direction or an approval for a particular course of action; a data or information interchange.

An information message that has a business context but may not be part of a business transaction (e.g. notification of a meeting or a message used as an envelope or carrier for an attached document, or a general notice to all staff).

Messages sent about a social club function or union activities are information for the recipient, and not a business transaction for the organisation, although they would be for the social club and union.

Questions about pricing to a preferred supplier
The suppliers response
A broadcast email concerning enterprise bargaining
A request for tender email and attached document
A response to a request for tender
An expression of interest for positions within your department
Your response to the above expression of interest
