Background
Original correspondence sent to the Home Secretary regarding the admission and discharge of patients to the Roma and Dalby Sanatoriums for Phthisis (also known as Consumption or Pulmonary Tuberculosis) from 1897 to 1902 can be found in Series ID 8400, Special Batches, Letters detail medical assessments of the patients and accommodation as well as travelling allowances.

- * demotes the file cover only. Correspondence has been removed presumably by the Home Office
- # indicates the individual is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander origin
- COL/237A contains patient files whilst COL/237B contains correspondence which refers to patients
- Letter 99/04181 is found on Miss Marion Anderson's file in COL/237a. This letter contains references to other patients. The top number is associated with several letters each with a different date as it is a Police File Reference not the Home Secretary's.
