Indexes - Registers of Criminal Depositions 1861-1885
The registers of criminal depositions were books maintained by the
Justice Department. They list people charged with a criminal offence and information
given includes the nature of the offence ; the court where the trial was held;
if a gaol sentence was imposed it gives the name of the gaol. With the information
contained in these registers it is possible to look for further information
in court and prison records.
