Indexes - Queensland Divorces

This is an index to divorce files from the Supreme Court of Queensland:

1861-1894 for the Southern District, and
1876-1899 for the Northern District.

These files usually contain a range of documents including:

petitions
notice of petition
certificate of marriage
affidavit of service
affidavit of identification
certificate of Registrar
notice of trial
decree nisi and
decree absolute.

These earlier files do not always contain the marriage certificate.

How to Order

Queensland Divorces

To order copies of an item, complete an index order form Then post or fax your payment with payment to Queensland State Archives.

Send $12 for each reference requested. For this fee you will receive up to five pages, including the list of documents, if it is available. If the file is larger than five pages you will receive a quote for those pages not copied.

All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST, postage and handling. The minimum charge for credit card orders is $15.00. Cheques or postal orders must be in Australian dollars. If you require further information please contact us.
